ART Community Wiki (1)
ART is our acronym for the Aragon Robotics Team - http://www.aragonrobotics.org (2)
This is the ART Community Wiki, an integral part of its Collaborative Work Environment. The wiki is intended for use by trusted team and community members for collaborative documentation. What we have here is a read-and-write web, as opposed to the ordinary web pages that you can only read from with your browser. Treat this as the scratch pad, or the restaurant napkin that you sketch on to share your idea with people sitting around the table. Except, this time, the wiki is you napkin, and the people you are sharing your idea with can be all around the world, sitting in front of their computer (or looking at their handheld device) connected to the Internet; and they don't even necessarily have to be there at the same time you are sketching. First time users should read more about the WikiWikiWeb and then play in the SandBox. Text formatting rules for this flavor of wiki can be found at the TextFormattingRules page. For rules about this Wiki, read our WikiStyleGuide and WikiProcessGuide. Please login (see: upper right corner, or create an account if you have not already done so) with a "WikiWord" styled user name (like "JaneDoe" or "AbrahamLincoln") for yourself before you proceed with a wiki authoring/editing session. Mission Statement (GIL)
The Aragon Robotics Team will bring together a group of students, engineers, teachers, and adult volunteers, united by a common interest in science, mathematics, and technology to accomplish the central goal of constructing a robot capable of competing in the U.S. FIRST Robotics Competition and the W.R.R.F. California Robot Games. Through this process, we will learn about the fields of mathematics, computer science, physics, and electrical and mechanical engineering. We will also develop an appreciation of the cooperative process of design and engineering. In addition, we intend to build upon the existing robotics program at Aragon High School to ensure that it will thrive for years to come. The Aragon Robotics Team will expand into these areas during the 2005-2006 Competition Year: The Aragon Robotics Team will reach out to the education community, fostering an appreciation of robotics and engineering in children attending elementary, middle, and high schools near Aragon High School. The Aragon Robotics Team will encourage parents, sponsors, and the general public to increase their participation in the team's activities. (GIM)
